Using the DVD Rewriteable Drives in the Helpdesk

Last Updated: Oct 20, 2016 09:10AM EDT

The purpose of this Quicknote is to inform users that they can stop by either of our Helpdesks to borrow one of our DVD drives. If you would like to use the DVD-RW drives provided by the ITS Helpdesk, you will need to be at either of our locations, 206 MSB or 3174 WSW. You will also need to remain there during the use of these drives.

The differences between a CD-R and a CD-RW is that a CD-R can only have information written to it one time and the information cannot be removed or erased, whereas a CD-RW can have information written to it multiple times and the information can be removed or erased.

Please remember it is always best to have several ways to access important documents. Consider using your Personal Drive (H:\ drive), a USB/flash drive, or emailing smaller documents/files to yourself for access from other computers.

Intended Audience:

This Quicknote is for the benefit of the faculty, staff, and student members on campus who would like more information about using the Helpdesk's DVD drives.

To follow this Quicknote you will need to have access to a computer with either Windows 7, 8, or 10.
